Echo follows Maya Lopez, a deaf Native American woman who as a child was taken in by the Kingpin and trained to be an assassin. As a young adult living in New York City, Maya operates under the alias "Echo" and works as one of Kingpin's top enforcers. However, Maya begins to question her loyalty to Kingpin as she reconnects with her Native American roots and learns more about her family's past.
After a violent confrontation leaves Maya questioning everything, she returns home to Oklahoma to her Native American community. Attempting to reconcile her bloody past with her heritage, Maya must confront long-buried secrets and betrayal tied to her family. She forges new bonds with both her Cheyenne relatives and her childhood best friend Frenchie as she rediscovers her culture's traditions and beliefs.
