Director Fede Alvarez has revealed a teaser for his upcoming film Alien: Romulus, which has gained support from both Ridley Scott and James Cameron. These two directors were responsible for elevating the original Alien franchise to its iconic status. The anticipation for the film's August release has intensified, especially considering that it was originally planned to be a Hulu exclusive for streaming. However, the studio's reconsideration of the film's potential has resulted in a theatrical release.

According to Alvarez's credentials, which feature the 2013 reboot of the Evil Dead series and his 2016 hit, Don't Breathe, the upcoming eighth installment in the Aliens franchise is set to revisit the sci-fi horror/thriller roots of the original - including intense scenes and lingering jump scares that will stay with you long after the movie has ended.

The cast of the movie includes Cailee Spaeny, Isabela Merced, David Jonsson, Archie Renaux, Spike Fearn, and Aileen Wu. The film centers on a team of youthful space scavengers who encounter a Xenomorph on an abandoned spacecraft. As expected, the number of casualties rises as the crew is ultimately overpowered by the Xenomorph.

The film pays tribute to the previous installments of the franchise, as director Alvarez made sure to draw inspiration from them and seamlessly incorporate them into the storyline. The plot details are limited, but it is known that the film takes place in the timeline between the first and second films.

Get ready to be spooked by Alien: Romulus, hitting theaters on August 16th. Don't miss the chilling sneak peek below.
